What is Solver results and cached results?

A “solver result” was solved for your request; a “cached result” is a stored solver result for exactly the same conditions. Neither is an estimate.

Always showing where a result came from lets you judge for yourself how far to trust it.

Like solving a problem again versus copying your own earlier, identical solution — the answer is the same.

Results carry a green (solver) or blue (cached) label. Should Laplaxian ever show values interpolated from nearby calculations, they will be clearly marked as estimates in a different colour.

A cache hit requires an exact fingerprint match. A cached result keeps the provenance of the original calculation — date, versions and all.
